Corrections Policy

Child safety information has to be right, and it has to stay right. This page explains what we do when an article contains a mistake or when guidance changes after publication.

Factual Errors

If an article contained wrong information, such as an incorrect limit, date, legal requirement or statistic, we correct the text and add a dated note near the correction that says what changed. Errors that could affect a child’s safety are given priority.

Changes in Guidance or Law

When a law, recommendation or compliance date changes, the earlier article was not necessarily wrong. In these cases we update the affected section and change the “Last Updated” date at the top of the guide.

Minor Fixes

Spelling, grammar, formatting and broken links are fixed without a note, because they do not change the meaning of the article.

How to Report a Mistake

Use our contact form and include:

  1. The link to the page
  2. The sentence you believe is wrong
  3. A source that supports the correction, if you have one

We review each report against the original source. If the guide is correct, we will explain why when you ask for a reply. Our Editorial Policy describes the sources we rely on.
